Why didn't a drive get logged?

Own Miles needs location set to Always to notice a drive without you opening it. Check Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services, Own Miles. Low Power Mode and very short trips can also be missed. You can start a trip yourself from Today, or start or add one with Siri or the Shortcuts app.

Does it drain my battery?

Own Miles waits for your car to leave where it was parked before it turns on full location, and turns it off when the drive ends, so most of the day it uses almost nothing.

How do I mark a drive as business?

Swipe it on the Trips list, answer the notification after the drive, or use Review on Today. Business drives need a purpose (who, where or why) in their notes, as the IRS expects.

Is my commute deductible?

Usually not. Driving between home and your regular workplace is commuting. Own Miles suggests Commuting for drives between your saved home and work, and explains the exceptions in Settings, Commuting rules. Check your own case with a tax professional.

What do I give my accountant?

Open Reports, pick the tax year, and export the PDF log (Own Miles Pro) or the CSV (free). The PDF has your Schedule C line 44 miles, the deduction at the IRS rates and every trip by month.

I bought Pro. Why is it locked?

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. Pro shared through Family Sharing can take a few minutes to appear.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, Subscriptions. Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I bring my trips from MileIQ or another app?

Export a CSV from your old app, then in Own Miles open Settings, Data, Import trips. See switching from MileIQ for the steps.

Where is my data?

On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud when sync is on. We have no copy. See the privacy policy.
